Top Ten Thugs

 Top Ten Thugs

When George first started his blog, I was keen to have emphasis on the loving, soppy and cool nature of his breed. There is so much prejudice about Rotties in the UK and sadly it seems that as a large breed, if they bite, they get the front page of the papers.

This blog entry is by NO means intended to insult or upset any of our visitors AND is by NO means a representation of our personal views.

I have lots of literature saved from my research about ‘dog bite statistics’ but yesterday, the daily mail produced it’s own findings. Our Dear friends Inga and Brian (who George calls Nanna & Grandad) informed us about it as they’d read it in their paper.

My own research was actually pointing towards cocker spaniels being the top biter’s.

After the daily mail publication there might be a new trend in reporting dog bites and the Rottie prejudice.

As some of you know, we’ve been having problems with George biting submissive dogs and puppies (not in an aggressive way, but, a bite that is not appropriate and with the current prejudice it has the capacity to become serious). This has reduced our confidence (naturally), which must travel down the lead, giving him the message to protect us. So in order to protect him from bad press, protect other dogs from an unsociable bite and still give him the opportunity to socialise safetly, we ordered him a new muzzle.

He’d tried the more discrete Mikki muzzles but really can’t pant properly in them, he gets upset and tries to take it off. His new muzz arrived on Monday and he is happy to wear it, he hasn’t once tried to get it off. He is having the time of his life as he runs super speed on the common chasing the rabbits Video. Now we can monitor his attempts to play a correct canine bitey face game and the innaproriate bites to the top of the head or ears.

This young boy has so much energy to run off and it’s wonderful to see him in his new freedom with no fear of the euthanasia needle. I am confident that he can gain confidence and ‘learn how to’ as he grows out of adolesence.

Dude I hope you don’t have to wear that muzzle for too long. Throw it over here and I’ll chew it up for you !

    Cheers

Hey Charlie, I’m telling ya, I told her not to put that post up.
Maybe your breed are unhappy in the States, maybe not enough work herding? Boredom bites? I bet you could chew my muzz up in minutes!

I see the posts all the time on Ruffdogs.co.uk about rottie bites etc. It is sensationalized and its like a terrorism assault. Its disgusting is what it is.

One thing I have made note of with little dogs is that if a big dog displayed the behavior that most people think is cute in little dogs, the big dog would be PTS immediately no questions asked. There is such a high expectation for behavior, management and responsibility for big dogs and their owners. When the little guys get a free pass to act like heathens.

I watch a friends IG and if my saints acted that way, they would be locked down 24/7 or euthanized. She is a holy terror and her owner just laughs and says “shes just such a diva” – diva scmiva that dog is a terror!
